The Lord of the Rings: the greatest book ever.
I don't think that there is a person out there who has never heard of this book. Four humble hobbits going to a fascinating venture, of which depends the fate of the world, a ranger king who leads his people after a long absence, and a demonic ring which has to be destroyed. Sounds familiar, right?
And if you haven't noticed, I want to tell you something.
This story is great. Epic. Captivating. Magical. Heroic.
I just have no words to describe it.
And not just the story. The worldbuilding, the characters, the writing style. This is a masterpiece, which I read 2 times straight without getting bored, which inspired me to create one of my greatest stories, even though I didn´t write it down, which invokes in me hope and despair, joy and sadness, passion and calmness.
But that´s how it all started...
¨The Fellowship of the Ring¨, ¨The Two Towers¨ and ¨The Return of the King¨. Of course, it was a pleasant surprise - I had watched the movies at least 100 times and they were (and still are) my favourites. But I still didn't realize what a wonder I had recieved...
From the first page, I was dragged in an infinite and magical world, just as similar and dreamt about as far-off and unreachable, a world of epic battles, elven swords and ancient legends, a world where I lived for months - and I still live there.
I said it and I'll say it again - "The Lord of the Rings" is the greatest book ever.

On the 26th of December, after the gift unpacking and the Christmas family walk, comes the occasional meetup with the family of my mom´s brother. This year, after the greetings, handshakes and kisses on the cheek, my uncle gave me a big pack in the form of a parallelepiped. I wondered what it was - it seemed too big to be a book. But I somehow sensed the good emotion through the wrapping paper and broke it impatiently. There were...
three books.
